Introduction

Stepping Stones is a postnatal support and discussion group, formed in 1995 by Lynn Bertram, Counsellor and Stepping Stones
Co-Ordinator. Stepping Stones is open to all women in Steyning and Storrington who have a baby up to 8 months old. It is a friendly and informal group, which gives you the opportunity to take some time out to talk about the experience of motherhood. Stepping Stones will also provide you with a local network of support and friendship to enable you to make the most of the changes which inevitably occur after the birth of a baby.

In 2005 when statutory funding for Stepping Stones came to an end, Stepping Forward was formed. A group of parents who had previously attended Stepping Stones, wanted the service to continue and formed a fundraising group to ensure new parents in the area would continue to benefit from this support. As well as funding Stepping Stones groups, Stepping Forward provide a range of activities to support families locally. Stepping Forward organise events to fundraise directly and have also been successful in receiving local grant funding from Action in Rural Sussex local network fund and Sussex Community Foundation grassroots grants scheme.

For details on the latest Stepping Forward activities please see the ‘Events’ page.
